Introduction:
The NexPath Telephone System integrates voice mail with the switching functions (PBX-like functions)
into one compact package. Instead of a multi-box, complex solution with only two or four "ports"
of voice mail that you would get on traditional telephone systems (using station ports), you
get a fully integrated
30 ports of voice mail on the NexPath system. The NexPath voice mail system is not an
add-on, placed "in front of" or "behind" the switching system. The NexPath voice mail
is an integral part of the telephony server designed in from the beginning.
In voice mail terminology, a "port" is one connection to the voice mail system. The number of "ports" on
a voice mail system is the number of simultaneous connections to voice mail possible at any one
given time. This includes both callers leaving voice mail, as well as a user retrieving his or her personal
voice mail. With the NexPath Server, you never have to worry about running out of ports.
Voice mail on the NexPath system is accessible from an inside line, an outside line, from the network API,
and from the web browser interface. You can listen to your voice mail using the multimedia capabilities of
your computer, or in the traditional manner from the telephone handset.
